  4. Nationally recognized

  5. GOAT

Flexible scheduling and a great work-life balance

A typical block in the Pediatric ED consists of 12-14 eight-hour shifts. The shifts span from either 8a-4p or 4p-12a. There are no overnight shifts. Additionally, there is a 3-hour weekly Tuesday conference.

Fellows are allowed to request off multiple days per month with most requests honored. Time off for longer periods of time are often made for vacation, unexpected family emergencies, paternity/maternity leave, or personal reasons.

Electives

Each fellow’s schedule is personally designed to meet their educational and clinical needs. We recruit fellows from both Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics so we tailor each fellow’s education to their needs with a variety of specialties and subspecialties available as electives.

Previous fellows have completed electives in: orthopedics, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatric surgery, pediatric cardiology, EMS, Medical Education, and Adolescent Medicine. If there is an elective a fellow would like to do we will help organize and facilitate whichever elective they choose.
