From Our Program Director

At Upstate Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship, you’ll find the creative and comfortable learning atmosphere you have been hoping for. Located in Syracuse, NY our program has been shaping minds and refining skills since 1988.  We have graduated 24 fellows to date. We are privileged to teach students and residents from various departments.  Our commitment to excellence and our state-of-the-art facilities make the Upstate Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship a rewarding experience, one that will last many years after graduation.

Our Emergency Department

  • Level 1 pediatric trauma center

  • 18 exam rooms with a capacity to serve 24 patients

  • Located in a separate unit from the adult ED

  • Greater than 27,000 visits annually

  • Designated pediatric trained nurses

  • All sub-specialties on site

  • Child life specialists available, including peak hours with dedicated ED child life coverage

  • Vast patient population, including suburbs, inner-city, refugees, Amish, and various other unique populations
